Reader review . . .
Young Lizzie Boylston became a widow at Bunker Hill. She is comforted by her relative and neighbor, Abigail Adams, and returned to her work as a midwife in the community of Braintree. As the Revolutionary War continues, she aids the Cause with her work as a spy.
The Midwife’s Revolt is a fascinating look at the Revolutionary War from the perspective of the women who stayed at home. The women are as strong in their way as the patriots who were fighting on the battlefield and with the pen. Abigail Adams is exceptionally portrayed as the courageous wife of our second President. For anyone who enjoys quality historical fiction, especially that of early America or those featuring strong female characters, this is a must read.
