Reader review (Seaside Harmony). . .
Caroline, Gracie and Sam decide to revisit their favorite childhood vacation spot after the death of their mother. All middle-aged, the sisters discover that the Misty Harbor Inn is for sale. Sam and Caroline wish to honor their mother’s lifelong desire to own the Inn, but Gracie needs to be convinced. Since the death of her husband, she does not want to leave the home they shared. Also, she is busy in the lives of her adult children and feels useful when caring for them. The sisters think they know what they’re getting into, but do they really?
Beach lovers, beware! Reading this book causes high spikes in your desire to be at the beach. I could almost smell the salt air while reading, and the description of the lobster served at the clambake made me hungry. For everyone who has ever entertained the fantasy of owning a cute little B&B, this is the perfect escape, and the mystery lovers will enjoy the mystery of the missing Hannah Montague. Also, if you’re sick of reading about sweet young 20-somethings, this is the antidote. The sisters are refreshingly mature. In other words, the youngest is in her 50s. When you consider how many readers of Christian fiction are mature women, you have to wonder why someone didn’t think of this before.
Great novel; clean mystery; soft Christian theme.
